Richard Ellis Crawley was born on August 27, 1963 to Billy B. and Sharon K. Crawley of Decaturville, TN. Debra Kelley and Jennifer Weaver, Richard's sisters, along with a host of cousins and friends grew-up in the Mt. Caramel area in Decatur County, TN.  People were drawn to Richard..... he was never in a bad mood and always had a smile on his face.  Richard was raised-up farming and of course, loved horses and grew to love trail riding.  He and his cousins worked hard in the fields and managed to find time to play, ski and camp on the beautiful Tennessee River and get into a little trouble every now and then!

Richard married his high school sweetheart Jo Kathryn Turner on January 8, 1988. On October 31, 1988 Richard was diagnosed with terminal cancer. At the young age of 25, he lost his battle with cancer on February 6, 1989. Two months later on April 6, 1989 Richard only child was born Laura Richlyn Crawley.  Richard was loved by all who knew him.

Richard's memory lives on as we saddle-up every year in hopes that one day a cure for cancer will be found.
